JAMES TAYLOR & HIS ALL-STAR BAND COAST TO COAST CANADIAN TOUR with special guest BONNIE RAITT & HER BAND at Mile One Centre May 5th.

James Taylor & His All-Star Band with special guest Bonnie Raitt and her band have announced a Coast to Coast Canadian Tour. The tour kicks off in Victoria, British Columbia on April 14, 2020 and includes 12 stops across the country ending in St. John’s, at Mile One Centre on May 5, 2020.

Taylor and Raitt’s highly anticipated Coast to Coast Canadian Tour celebrate a decades-long friendship. Recent performances in the US have earned rave reviews. The Minneapolis Star Tribune called the show “an unforgettable evening.”

Taylor will also be releasing a one-of-a-kind music and storytelling experience entitled, Break Shot in early 2020 on Audible. Break Shot is Taylor’s first-ever spoken-word performance. Break Shot is a deeply personal and authentic audio-only memoir featuring personal reflections on his childhood, family life and early days of his career. Music and songs will be woven throughout.

Bonnie Raitt is more than just a best-selling artist, respected guitarist, expressive singer, and accomplished songwriter, she has become an institution in American music. Born to a musical family, the ten-time Grammy winner, who Rolling Stone named as both one of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time” and one of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time,” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. After 20 years as a cult favorite, she broke through to the top in the early 90s with her GRAMMY-award winning albums, Nick of Time and Luck of the Draw, which featured hits such as, “Something To Talk About” and “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” Bonnie Raitt recently released her new album entitled, Dig In Deep. This release includes songs that continue to personify what it means for her to stay creative, adventurous and daring as she has over the course of a legendary career.

Originally founded in Germany by writer and producer Frank Farian, Boney M. was one of the disco-oriented pop acts which dominated the European charts throughout the late seventies and early eighties with a string of hits well remembered to this day.

The discography of Boney M's hits is extensive. The group had eight Number One hits in the European charts with the following singles: Daddy Cool, Sunny, Ma Baker, Belfast, Rivers of Babylon, Brown Girl in the Ring, Rasputin, Mary's Boy Child. In addition to the successes of Boney M's singles was the success of three Number One albums in the European market. We are now in the 21st Century and there is obviously no doubt that songs from the past are far more popular than ever before. Boney M's international success during the past twenty five years has proven that their hits definitely belong to the collection of timeless classics.

In 2019, Boney M. featuring Liz Mitchell is still a phenomenal live act drawing huge crowds throughout Europe. The live show is as spectacular as ever and they are currently making live appearances in concert halls, galas, open-airs and festivals around the world.

ZZ TOP is Celebrating 50 years and is coming to Rock the Rock!

“That Little Ol’ Band From Texas,” lay undisputed claim to being the longest running major rock band with original personnel intact and, in 2004, the Texas trio was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Of course, there are only three of them – Billy F Gibbons, Dusty Hill, Frank Beard -- but it’s still a remarkable achievement that they’re still very much together after almost 50 years of rock, blues, and boogie on the road and in the studio. “Yeah,” says Billy, guitarist extraordinaire, “we’re the same three guys, bashing out the same three chords.” With the release of each of their albums the band has explored new ground in terms of both their sonic approach and the material they’ve recorded. ZZ TOP is the same but always changing.

ZZ TOP’s music is always instantly recognizable, eminently powerful, profoundly soulful and 100% Texas American in derivation. The band’s support for the blues is unwavering both as interpreters of the music and preservers of its legacy. It was ZZ TOP that celebrated “founding father” Muddy Waters by turning a piece of scrap timber than had fallen from his sharecropper’s shack into a beautiful guitar, dubbed the “Muddywood.” This totem was sent on tour as a fundraising focus for The Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi, site of Robert Johnson’s famed “Crossroads” encounter with the devil. ZZ TOP’s support and link to the blues remains as rock solid as the music they continue to play. They have sold millions of records over the course of their career, have been officially designated as Heroes of The State of Texas, have been referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms and are true rock icons but, against all odds, they’re really just doing what they’ve always done. They’re real and they’re surreal and they’re ZZ TOP.

     TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

Tickets range in price from $68.75 to $114.75 plus S/C. Tickets will be available at Mile One Centre Box Office, 709 576-7657 and online at mileonecentre.com.
