The Newfoundland Growlers have signed Bonavista native Adam Pardy to a one-year, ECHL contract. With the signing, Pardy becomes the third Newfoundlander to join the Growlers roster.

The 6’-4”, 227-pound defensemen was drafted 173rd overall in the 2004 NHL entry draft by the Calgary Flames. Pardy went on to appear in 350 NHL games registering 5 goals and 50 assists for 55 points, along with a +2 rating and 276 penalty minutes. During his 10-year NHL career Pardy has suited up for 6 different clubs including Calgary, Dallas, Buffalo, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Nashville.

Pardy, 34, most recently skated in 11 games for Frolunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League where he totaled 1 assist and 18 penalty minutes.
